RARA CONFERENCE Mounting Pressure
As less than a month remains for the United Nations Framework for Climate Change Conference of Parties (COP20) to commence in Lima, Capital of Peru, between December 1 and 12, 2014, a 2-day national conference has concluded with a 9-point Rara Declaration at Rara, Nepal’s largest lake at the altitude of 3,000 meters. Nepal, as a leading nation raising the voice about the consequences of climate change in mountain countries and for mountain people, the Rara Declaration has again reiterated that the mountain countries are the most vulnerable to climate change and they need a common voice to address the common issues
